Rotary Position Sensor Products From Penny + Giles

Penny & Giles offer a selection of sophisticated rotary position sensor products which are well known for their reliability and their excellent performance. The new NRH280DP model is a no contact, dual output sensor which uses a Hall effect sensor system which is factory programmable. This encapsulated co-molded system features low profile slim housing which is incredibly durable, being capable of standing up to strong vibrations and shocks and operating environments including temperatures of as high as 170 degrees Celsius.
Specifically created for tough applications which demand low profile sensors, the NRH280DP rotary position sensor can withstand IP69K high pressure washing and can be configured for radial offsets of +/- 2 millimeters; the magnet and sensor have strong enough transmissive properties that a gap of as much of 7 millimeters between the two is acceptable, even through materials which are non-magnetic.
The NRH280DP can use either a 9-30V DC or a 5 V DC power supply, offers 12 bit resolution (.025%) and an exceptionally low signal noise level for reliable, interruption-free operation. This rotary position sensor is a truly wear-free system which provides an incredibly long service life with little to no maintenance.
Another new offering from the Penny & Giles sensor range is the TPS280DP, which also uses a factory programmable non contact Hall effect sensor. It's intended as an alternative to rotary potentiometers in the induction systems of motorcycles and in racing cars. Using the TPS280DP position sensor in the place of a standard potentiometer completely eliminates the signal noise due to wear on the potentiometer which can lead to an early failure.
This rotary position sensor is designed to last and has been tested to 60 million operations (or 30 million cycles), which is over nine times the average life of a potentiometer under the same conditions. Better still, it's also interchangeable with the vast majority of throttle potentiometers which use 32 millimeter mounting centers and it's also compatible with most type D throttle body spindles. Like the NRH280DP, the TPS280DP features durable housing which is sealed to IP69K specifications and can stand up to high pressure washing.
