Wiper Seal For Many Applications

Date Added: 4th May 2012

FTL's type 0093 model of double acting wiper seal offer the functionality of conventional piston rod wiper seals alongside those of a low pressure fluid seal. When used along with proper piston seals, the type 0093 provides a highly efficient and secure seal. Type 0093 Meridian seals can be used in most applications where a single acting seal would be used.

However, when they're integrated into composite rod seal configurations with hydraulic cylinders, these double acting seals keep the rod dry and clean inside of the seal housing due to their highly efficient wiping action.

The FTL Meridian type 0093 double acting wiper seal is made from NBR and is available with a range of different surface finishes. The design of this double acting seal offers the inwards wiping action of a u-packing seal along with outwards wiping which helps prevent contamination and seals out residual oil.

These seals are ideal for use in injection and compression molding machinery as well as in forklifts and other medium-duty to heavy duty industrial equipment.

FTL also offers a single acting piston rod wiper seal range, types 0090/0092/0095. These seals are available in different materials and in a variety of designs and housings to suit the needs of differing applications. The range consists of three basic designs: single lip seals which are designed for use with snap-in housings (type 0090), a single lip seal with integrated steel cage designed for press fit housings (type 0092) and type 0095, a more contemporary design made for use with ISO 6195 type A size housings.

The models in type 0090/0092/0095 wiper seal range are available in polyurethane or nitrile materials, with fluoroelastomer also available upon request. The surface finish of the seals is dependent on the demands of the particular application and as such, a variety of finishes are available.

Nitrile Meridian wiper seals are compatible with a wide range of operating temperatures, are not subject to the buildup of pressure between the wiper and seal or anti-rotation in their housing. This material tends to perform best in wider diameters. Polyurethane seals feature a slightly chamfered lip and support elements on their heel to prevent the entry of water or dirt and to prevent twisting and the buildup of pressure between wiper and seal - and they leave just the right amount of residual oil on hydraulic piston rods.

The products in the Meridian type 0090/0092/0095 wiper seal range are ideal for injection and compression molding machines, hydraulic systems used in mining and earth moving and other medium to heavy duty hydraulics applications.
