Stemmer Imaging's Boa is an advanced imaging system which features integrated iNspect software for image control and processing, a feature which will be familiar to users of Stemmer's VA range of imaging systems.
However, the Boa smart camera includes new features which are not present in the VA line, chiefly that the camera can be configured using a web-based interface through a standard Ethernet connection, so that users can set up and adjust the Boa through their web browser without having to install any proprietary software to support the system.
It's an easily installable, user friendly vision system which is perfect for single point imaging applications and offers a low cost solution for automated imaging.
Boa features an integrated VGA CCD sensor, processor and light and communication control capabilities and is fully compatible with Stemmer Imaging's Sherlock development toolkit. Sherlock provides users with an easy to use graphical interface which gives them the ability to provide custom imaging solutions in virtually any manufacturing, processing or quality control application.
At a size of only 44 millimeters cubed, the Boa smart camera can be mounted almost anywhere it is needed, making it a natural choice for integration with existing production processes as well as new installations.
The housing is designed to withstand the rigors of industrial environments and is IP67-rated. An optional watertight lens cover is available; this cover is a cost effective alternative to expensive watertight enclosures which is suitable for use in environments where regular wash downs are common.
The Boa features a PLC interface for easy integration with control and monitoring devices as well as three LED status indicators which provide information on the device's activity and the condition of the unit at a glance.
Exceptionally versatile and powerful, Boa is well suited for a wide variety of applications where automated imaging is needed to increase productivity and can be custom configured to meet the needs of the user with ease - and it's also available as a component for OEMs.
