FTL Technology offers a variety of seals for many applications, including an industry leading piston seal range under the Meridian brand. The range includes composite seals for pistons, veepack seals, u-ring seals and compact piston seals, all of which are available in virtually any size required.
Composite Seals for Hydraulic Pistons
Meridian type 0037/0038/0039 seals are two part, double acting coaxial seals; radial sealing force is provided by an elastomeric inner, while an outer sealing ring made from a PTFE and glass fiber compound material (a model with bronze filler is also available) serves as the low friction dynamic surface needed to provide a secure seal.
0037/0038/0039 seals are designed for use with light to medium duty hydraulic cylinders and are especially suitable for applications which demand low running friction and low breakaway forces.
Veepack Piston Sealing Sets
FTL's Meridian type 0003 veepack piston seal is a three ring piston sealing solution designed for split construction double acting pistons which use a bearing band or central support bush. These seals are produced in diameters ranging from 20 to 300 millimeters and may be supplied with additional rings for use as intermediate seals as needed.
Type 0003 seals are designed for use with medium to heavy duty double acting pistons for hydraulics including heavy duty presses as well as applications which involve high radial or shock loads. Made from fabric reinforced elastomeric materials, with the exact elastomer depending on the specific type of piston sealing required, type 003 Meridian piston seals are designed only for use with split construction pistons.
U-Ring Seals For Single or Double Acting Pistons
FTL technology's type 0073 seal is an asymmetric single acting seal which can be also be used as seals for double acting pistons which use a central support bush when the seals are installed back to back. Due to the durable, abrasion-resistant construction of the type 0073 piston seal, it is suitable for a large variety of applications, including in earth moving and construction equipment, mill cylinders and other heavy duty, demanding work environments.
Compact Piston Sealing
The Meridian type 0080 seal is designed for single piece pistons which carry out double acting applications. Type 0080 seals feature integrated support bushes and anti-extrusion rigs which enable them to handle radial side loads.
Usable in most situations where a single piece piston is involved, the type 0080 piston seal is perfect for mobile hydraulics applications including earth moving and construction equipment as well as loading cranes; and these seals are also ideal for load holding applications due to their high performance elastromeric sealing elements.
