Pancake Load Cell for Rapid Dynamic Measurement

The DSCC series Pancake Load Cells from Applied Measurements have a wide application where axial force (both compressive and tensile) measurement is required. They have useful features such as low-profile stainless steel construction, clean lines, high resistance to non-axial forces (such as bending, sliding (shear) and torsion), high accuracy of measurement and a IP65 enclosure standard.
This makes this type of force sensor a popular choice for materials tensile performance proving. They can operate in temperatures between -20 deg C to +80 deg C and their safe overload of 150% and ultimate (instantaneous) overload of 300% of rated capacity makes them a safe choice for test rigs and other high energy applications.
The DSCC series have an excellent rapid response to high frequency dynamic loads which makes them an excellent choice for automotive test rigs and other dynamic monitoring applications. What is more, the DSCC series pancake load cell, like all other load cells supplied by Applied Measurements, can be provided to order especially rated for fatigue testing for 109 full cycles of compression and tension within their rated capacity. The DSCC series load cell standard range is supplied with nominal 10V DC excitation although they will tolerate from 5 to 15V DC.
Each has a dynamic load capacity from ±5kN to ±1,000kN and between 2.0 & 2.7 mV/V signal output to give of ±0.05% of rated output for non-linearity, hysteresis, repeatability, ±025% for symmetry and ±1.0% zero balance; thus giving the confidence of results in all situations.
Applied Measurements offer the high-speed analogue SGA amplifier to go with the DSCC range of load cells. They have an industry-standard conditioned signal output of 4-20mA, ±5Vdc or ±10Vdc with a bandwidth of up to 6kHz.
The DSCC series Pancake Load Cell can be provided with a range of optional extras including load buttons, spherical rod end bearings, standard or special mounting bases. The central threaded hole is supplied as standard as M20 for up to 50kN capacity, M36 for 100kN and 200 kN and M64 for 300kN to 500kN.
Applied Measurements can customise their pancake load cell to suit non-standard applications such as replacements for other manufacturer's load cells on existing equipment. If a pancake load cell of less than 5kN capacity is required, Applied Measurements supplies their DSCRC low-profile load cell with capacities between 500N to 2,000N.
