Stemmer Imaging's Common Vision Blox is a powerful and flexible platform for developing vision applications. The modular design of the CVB programming library makes it easy to integrate with virtually any type of image acquisition technology and to make it fully compatible with most commonly used models of imaging equipment from a wide range of different manufacturers. Along with the code base included in the CVB package, users can easily integrate their own customized code for even greater versatility.
The CVB toolkit is hardware independent and supports PC based systems as well as embedded smart camera operating systems. Code may be created with standard compilers as well as GUI-based programming platforms and applied to the application at hand through the tools included in Common Vision Blox. CVB is compatible with Visual Basic, Visual C++, .Net (C#) and Borland Delphi development environments.
The core of the image acquisition system is CVB's Image Manager, which includes base features including drivers for imaging hardware and image access functionality. The Image Manager is supported by a large toolset which includes tools for barcoding, measurement, surface inspection and search and read applications.
The CVB foundation package offers users the tools needed for most imaging applications, including logical and arithmetic image operators, statistics, advanced filtering capabilities including non-linear transformation, morphology and convolution of images and color space conversion. Bayer to RGB conversion capabilities which include white balancing are included in the basic feature set, as are dynamic thresholding and other advanced thresholding capabilities, destructive text overlay and correlation based pattern matching. Multithreading is also supported in this truly hardware-independent imaging development solution.
Aside from the integrated features in the CVB foundation package, there are optional tools available which extend the functionality of Common Vision Blox and make this powerful imaging SDK even more flexible and useful.
