Compression Load Cell for Accurate and Reliable Measurement

The DSCRC series compression load cells form the mid-range of load cells from Applied Measurements where small scale axial compressive and tensile forces between 10N and 500N need to be measured. Their very low-profile clean lines and IP65 enclosure standard make these force transducers the first choice for smaller monitoring and testing applications. In addition, their high resistance to non-axial forces and high accuracy make them simpler to use and more reliable in operation.
This force sensor series has counter-bored bolt holes to allow a flush and lower profile. Alternatively, the compression load cell body can be provided with an aluminium construction to order.
DSCRC series all have a safe overload of 150% and ultimate (instantaneous) overload of 300% of rated capacity, which greatly reduces the likelihood of catastrophic load cell and rig failure; a great plus for example, for automotive testing. The DSCRC series pancake load cell like all other load cells supplied by Applied Measurements, can be provided to order especially rated for fatigue testing. They are guaranteed to withstand 109 full cycles of loading within their rated capacity.
The DSCRC series is intrinsically set up to accommodate rapid response to high frequency dynamic loads and they are rated to operate in temperatures between -20 deg C to +80 deg C, which makes them an excellent choice for the smaller dynamic monitoring applications under difficult conditions.
The DSCRC series load cell's standard range is supplied with nominal 10V DC excitation with a tolerance range from 5 to 15V DC. The range has dynamic load capacities of ±500N to ±2,000N and 2.0 mV/V output to high accuracy to give the confidence of results in all situations.
To enable the user to operate a complete system that can be certified as a reference standard, Applied Measurements provide a high-speed analogue SGA amplifier to go with the DSCRC range of load cells. They feature industry-standard conditioned signal output of 4-20mA, ±5Vdc or ±10Vdc and a bandwidth of up to 6kHz. Other electronics available include the TR150 Handheld Digital Indicator and the Intuitive2-L Panel-Mount Indicator
The DSCRC series compression load cells have a whole range of optional accessories available including load buttons, spherical rod end bearings, standard or special mounting bases. The central threaded hole is supplied as standard as M10. However, Applied Measurements can customise their compression load cell to suit non-standard applications such as replacements for other manufacturer's load cells on existing equipment.
